The final city on my 2018 Euro Trip was the same one I flew into, London, England. This was by far the most expensive city I have ever been to however, it was definitely worth it.
At this point in my trip, I was at a weird spot of wanting to come home but also not wanting my trip to end so I listened to my body and when it wanted to go, I did and when it wanted to rest, I did. This resulted in a couple packed days of sightseeing, one hungover day of sightseeing and one completely lazy day where I didn’t get off of the couch.
However, when I wasn’t being lazy, I was walking all over the city. The hungover sightseeing day, we must have walked at least 15 miles (and yes, my tootsies were a little swollen after that) wandering through Camden Market (only open on Saturdays) to Westminster Abbey (which you now have to pay to go in!), through the Parliament Buildings, past Big Ben (which is under a total renovation so you sadly can’t see much of it) & the London Eye, back towards Buckingham Palace to Harrods (which is so much more than a shopping center, truly a museum and come hungry!), through Hyde Park to Kensington Palace and back to our home near Paddington.
While I loved seeing Buckingham Palace and wandering through Hyde Park to end up at Kensington Palace, my absolute favorite thing was going on the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
You see, I’ve been Harry Potter obsessed since the first book came out. I distinctly remember waiting on the couch until my mom got home with the newest book and speeding through each one in only a day because I couldn’t get enough of it. Since they came out, I’ve re-read them multiple times and of course, seen (and own) all of the movies. There was even a time when they had everyone casted for the movie except Hermione Granger and you know your girl begged to tryout. Clearly that didn’t happen but I still pretend I could’ve been her.
Anyways, getting the chance to see all of the sets, props and be in that magical world was incredible. Every couple of months, they change the main theme of the studio – when we went, it was The Goblet of Fire. So while all the main stuff was there, we also got to the Goblet of Fire and more costumes that were in that film. Highly recommend.
